Initial Veterinary Care: When we rescue a bird, the initial veterinary expenses are often substantial. These include:

• Contagious disease panel
• Initial veterinary exam
• Initial lab work

• Nail trimming
• Beak smoothing
• X-rays and band removal if needed
• Medications if required

Ongoing Veterinary Care: The long-term health of our birds is just as important. Ongoing veterinary expenses cover:

• Six-month recheck visits
• Nail trims
• Long-term medications
• Surgical procedures as needed (e.g., broken wing, broken leg, malformed beak, egg-bound)

To ensure our birds thrive, we provide them with everything they need, including:

• Supplements and Food: Whole nuts, shelled mixed nuts and seeds, fresh vegetables and fruits, chicken and turkey meat, garbanzo beans, edamame, pasta noodles
• Cleaning Supplies: Simple Green, paper towels, scrub brushes, Dawn dish soap, dusting sheets, broom, vacuum, mop, plastic sheeting, cage liners
• Bathing Supplies: Apple cider vinegar, Epsom salts, colloidal oatmeal, Dawn dish soap, Listerine, lavender essential oil, distilled water
• Husbandry Items: Cages, bowls, perches, toys, swings, humidifiers, air purifiers
